Well, that was far more painless than I expected a Catholic school graduation to be. They only had us pray twice!

The highlight of the ceremony, in my opinion, was the principal's speech. He mentioned the embarrassing baby pictures parents put on the senior page, starting the examples with 'Brian Muegge's Shirley Temple hair,' to the cheers of our family. He also likened the 2012 class's competitive nature to The Hunger Games, drawing several parallels between the two and referring to himself as President Snow. The fangirl in me was duly appeased. The speech ended with "May the odds be ever in your favor," which, if you think about it separately from The Hunger Games, is a good message to relay to a grad--assuming that he or she knows to create his/her own luck.

I'm extremely proud of my cousin Brian Antonio Muegge for graduating high school and getting a college scholarship! He's the youngest in our tight-knit group of cousins, so it's pretty weird that he's not so young anymore. Congratulations Brian!!!
